🌿Hi! I'm Ivy 🌿

Artist | Animator | Maker

📍 Based in the beautiful state of Michoacán, Mexico 🇲🇽

I often think of myself as an artist who thinks like an engineer.

My education didn't happen in an art school; it started in primary school with a computer and a copy of Macromedia Flash. For me, animation was a shield. It was a useful way to deflect the stress of having to stand in front of the class to speak. I realized I didn't have to perform; I could create something, press "Play," and let the work speak for itself.

That DIY spirit defines how I learn today; by tearing things apart to see how they work, and then putting them back together in my own way.

I am a proud trans woman and a neurodivergent person, and this shapes my creative philosophy: I don't believe in rigid boxes, binary choices, or accepting the default. I prefer to customize my own reality.

I live comfortably in the blur between Art and Science. For me, they are the same discipline. My technical mind loves the logic of programming and the challenge of creating complex animation rigs, while the artist in me craves the chaos of watercolor and organic storytelling.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me:

  • 🎮 Gaming: I love city building games like Cities Skylines and Against the Storm.
  • 🔨 Building: I enjoy woodworking and building my own furniture/workstations.
  • 🎹 Listening: Vibing to Funk and Jazz (Vulfpeck is a staple in the studio).

Since I'm not really on social media outside of work, the best way to reach me is the old-fashioned way. I read every email and I love hearing about new collaborations, especially if they involve open-source tech, education, or video games.

Feel free to send me an email!
